The local business owner is aware of the plans but said he's glad that there's a good alternative out there.

He has been making pest control for years but he still has no idea exactly how much pest control is going on in his city, said Dr. Jay Smith, the business' president.

The county also has no law banning backyard garden gardening operations.

"Nobody ever comes in and says 'I just want to get rid of pests because they're everywhere,'" said Smith.

He also doesn't realize how good a variety of soil cleaning products are.

So far, he's made 12 or 13 and he's already putting out a pest infestation warning on his building. "No one has been able to get a good drainage system that works," said Smith.

But there are other factors that have the potential to increase the costs and strain on the plant.

"It has to be done right," said Smith.

"The city is trying to make this work and I don't know if any of the other community officials are even aware of pest control in their community at this point," said Smith.

Smith hopes that the project will eventually gain support in his community for a permanent house renovation.
