In India, where most people cultivate their own vegetables, they are more adept at growing vegetables from seeds than from man. As much as 80 percent of children in India have an interest and appreciation for fruits and vegetables cultivated for their own benefit.

The National Farmers Federation of India (NFFI), a nonprofit that has helped thousands of farmers across India, is also one of India's largest organizations, with more than 3,500 branches in 19 states.

The state government said an average of 8.7 million seeds were planted annually, which was 2,100 more than the global average, according to a 2015 report by the World Factbook.

"We must make this very clear to the people of India in this regard. So if you want to see seeds growing, I guarantee that you go here," said Ajay Bharadwaj, who heads an NGO called Indum Bhatti — the Seed of Agriculture.

An estimated 4.1 million people across India, on average, produce over 200 seeds annually – the most globally — but most of them don't grow it into pots.

The National Farmers Federation of India was an established farming initiative that opened up in 1978 after the Great Indian Winter Festival.

Its mission is to foster the development of healthy food for a growing society through sustainable farming practices.
